How to make a turkey bone broth
After enjoying your turkey, place turkey bones in a large pot. It’s alright if there’s still some meat on there too. If you don’t have time to do this within a day or two of enjoying your turkey, you can also freeze the bones for later use.
Fill pot with just enough water to submerge all bones.
Add garlic cloves, celery, carrots, onion, rosemary, parsley, bay leaves, salt, black pepper and apple cider vinegar to pot.
Heat stove top on medium high. Once the pot begins to boil, reduce heat to a simmer. Let broth simmer for 8-12 hours.
Remove large pieces of carcass or vegetables with a mesh or slotted spoon.
Pour broth through a mesh strainer and into a bowl with a spout to remove small pieces of herbs and bones.
Fill jars with bone broth for storing. Be sure to only fill 3/4 of the way if you’d like to freeze because the broth will expand and may break glass jars.
Use bone broth to sip on as a beverage, or cook with in soups, sauces and gravies. I like adding it to mashed potatoes or braised meats for added flavor and nutrition!
