Sticky BBQ Pineapple Turkey Kabobs

Ingredients

Pineapple BBQ Sauce

  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup favorite BBQ sauce

  • Step 1

    Preheat the grill to 400°F, set for 2-zone grilling, and spray grates with cooking spray.Cover wood skewers in water and soak for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2

    In a medium bowl whisk together pineapple juice and bbq sauce.
  • Step 3

    Cut and remove outer casing from each sausage link and add meat to a large bowl. Mix in garlic, black pepper, and oregano.
  • Step 4

    Use a ¼ dry measuring cup and make 16 long oval shaped patties. Roll in hand, pressing firmly to make the oval shape then add them to a sheet pan and place in the fridge to firm up for 15 minutes.
  • Step 5

    To each skewer pierce the middle a pineapple chunk, and a turkey kabob and firmly press turkey to mold around the skewer. Leave enough space to repeat another pineapple chunk, and turkey kabob. Place in the fridge again for 30 minutes.
  • Step 6

    Place skewers over direct heat on the grill and cook for 6 minutes. Flip skewers, brush top with bbq sauce and cook for 6 more minutes or until the kabobs reach 165°F. Flip over and brush with more pineapple bbq sauce. Serve immediately with extra sauce for dipping.
